Although Bordeaux is certainly well-known for wine production and wine tastings, the occasional cocktail does have it’s place in Bordeaux and that place was none other than Explora Nova. Explora Nova received a warm Bordeaux welcome  when an inaugural cocktail party was held, 10th February, to officially open the Explora Nova office in the “Centre de Genomique Fonctionelle de Bordeaux” on the Segalen University campus. Speeches were made by Daniel Choquet (Manager of Bordeux Imaging Centre and IINS – Interdisciplinary Institute for Neuroscience) and Christophe Ranger (Director and Scientific Manager, Explora Nova) followed by demonstrations of the products.

Those that attended were from various fields of research in Bordeaux, Christophe Mulle, Lionel Canioni, Sébastien Fribourg and Brice Kauffmann to mention a few and officials from the Aquitaine and Charente region such as Armelle Judde (Consiel Regional d’Aquitaine and Jean-Marc Marechal (Communauté d’Agglomération de La Rochelle). Representatives of various industrial partners were also present such as Zeiss, Leica, Opto and Hamamatsu, as well as representatives from Unitec, Innovalis Aquitaine, Alphanov and Alpha Route des Lasers competitive cluster.

The festivities were well received and Explora Nova is looking forward to continued success with its newly appointed projects in conjunction with Alpha Route des Lasers and the future NeuroCampus.
